Day 7

Sunday - We were supposed to be in Phoenix today, so new arrangements needed to be made to find a church here in Payson to worship.  As it turned out, the Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church just around the corner from where we were staying opens their church to the community every fifth Sunday of the month for the service and a lunch afterward.  Of course, they had to prepare a little extra food than they were expecting, but they were glad to have us.  They even made their church available to us for the rest of the day if we were looking for a place to get out of the heat for a while.

  1. Glad to hear you're finding ways to deal with the heat. Heard Death Valley was set to break the "hottest temperature ever recorded on earth" the other day, not sure if it did or not.

    1. I think I heard something about that. I believe Phoenix had its fourth hottest day on record. I'm glad we're currently sitting up in the mountains a little.

  3. And meanwhile we're experiencing much cooler than normal temperatures, with highs only in the low 20s...

I laughed when you said "the temperature here is a nice cool 30C"
